How IPO Allotment Chances Work
Learn how IPOwiz estimates Retail, SHNI, and BHNI allotment chances, and what lottery means when an IPO gets more applications than shares.
Categories we show
- •Retail - up to Rs 2 lakh per PAN.
- •SHNI - Rs 2 lakh to Rs 10 lakh.
- •BHNI - above Rs 10 lakh.
All three use lottery when oversubscribed. If you get shares, you get at least one lot. Applying for more lots on the same PAN does not improve that PAN's lottery chance.
What is basis of allotment?
Basis of allotment is the registrar's final report after the IPO closes. It shows how many applications came in each category and how many got shares. Our "1 in X" table is an estimate from application subscription. It is not a personal guarantee.
How to check IPO allotment
On allotment day, check with your PAN on the registrar site, the BSE IPO allotment page, or the IPOwiz allotment checker. For company-wise guides, see IPO allotment status.
